PLASTIC KNIVES

Damjan Vujaklija (guitar/electronica/bass)
Nikola Babić (drums)

Plastic Knives are a duo band from Zagreb, Croatia: Nikola Babić on the drums and Damjan Vujaklija on guitar, bass and electronica. Their sound is a mixture of fuzzed out and effects-heavy guitars, synthy and heavy basses, texturally diverse electronica and drums which cover everything from dance beats to progy polyrhythms.

Their debut material, in the form of two EPs, was released last year via bandcamp: Tongue In Cheek and Both Sides Of The Atlantic - available for free download. Last year the band also played a couple of successful concerts in Croatia, including festivals INmusic and Gričevanje, and are currently planning on hitting some European dates.

The band is currently promoting their second single Hooker Hickey. It's a standard for the style of music they play: an instrumental combo of tight dance and progressive drums, synth basses, fuzzed out and colourful guitars and a lot of electronic textures. The past single/video was Future Ex which is somewhat similar in sound but possibly more accessible to the common ear.

MAKROHANG

Tamas CZIRJAK (drums)
Marcell GYANYI (bass)
Gergely NAGY (guitars)

Jazz for Metal Heads! For instrumental music fans, who love cleverly structured songs, Makrohang is a Hungarian instrumental band that really invites you for a journey across different music genres. Unlike other instrumental bands Makrohang cleverly combines a variety of musical styles ranging from hard rock to post-bop, from jazz to hip hop, from techno to minimal and all over the board.

The young threesome partially formed at The Liszt Ferenc Academy in Budapest, as Marcell Gyanyi (bass) and Tamas Czirjak (drums) met at the academy's jazz program, but Gergely Nagy (guitars) and Marcell already played together for years. Makrohang's sonic world could be described as a mix of different styles cleverly structured into sonic audiovisual trips. Influences include of course by jazz, but also rocking guitar sounds and heavy bass lines, so that is where the buzzword #jazzformetalheads comes from.

After winning the 2014 Talentometer talent contest organized by A38 Ship as the first instrumental act the band achieved national recognition. They had several successful shows and recorded live sessions with psychedelic jazzrock newcomer Jü (debuting at RareNoiseRecords) and with Balázs Pándi the internationally acclaimed Hungarian drummer (Venetian Snares, Merzbow, The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz).

The band has released their second studio EP (MAXREBO) on the 19th December 2014 via S*10 Records. The leading Hungarian music magazine Recorder praised the release: "MAXREBO invites you with a longer song into the band's own world and the brilliant second song qwertz is able to return the highly energetic and pulsating experience, Makrohang is providing at their live concerts."

The band's international recognition started with the invitation from Waves Central Europe showcase festival, where the band played in Bratislava in October 2015. This gig resulted an invitation for MENT Ljubljana 2016. The band already toured in several countries outside of Hungary, like Czech Republic, Romania and Slovakia and meanwhile recorded the first full length LP in January 2016. The album is planned to be released in May 2016.

PRELUDE

Davor Loštrek - Đemmo (vocals, saxophone)
Klemen Mlinar - Klemč (guitar)
Blaž Arnolj - Beko (bass)
Aljaž Trček - Žaži (drums)

Fast, strong, bold! It all started in 2011, when Beko came up with the unique idea for the band name and music style. Now Klemč, Demmo, Žaži and Beko Prelude are a four-member hardrock/metal band coming from Slovenia, whose energy is best shown live on stage. They are known for their modern fusion hard rock style.
