Lačni Franz is a rock band from Slovenia that was most popular in the 1980s in Titoist Yugoslavia. While they were inspired by another Slovenian radical band Buldožer known for utilizing sheer madness in the social and political satire, their lyrics is more self-ironic. The band was formed in Maribor in June 1979. Their name, meaning hungry Franz, is a pun on the name of a character from the novel Catch-22, Hungry Joe, and describes hunger for rock music.

The band's music and attitude is a kind of laid back, and they portray themselves as a local band from a provincial town. Zoran Predin's lyrics range from disturbing ballads (Ne mi dihat za ovratnik, Lipa zelenela je), through love songs (Čakaj me, Naj ti poljub nariše ustnice), to social and political satire (Praslovan, Naša Lidija je pri vojakih).

In 2014 Zoran Predin revived the concert program of the band and went on tour with four young musicians. The first recording of the new ensemble JEBIVETER JUNIOR was a pleasant surprise. They play uncomopromisingly striking.

Strong, emotionally fuelled pop-rock songs with overwhelming warm vocals and sliding guitar sounds mark Jardier as one of the most promising new bands on the Slovenian scene. Main author and singer Alex Raztresen draws inspiration from the best singer-songwriter, blues, folk and Americana traditions, while his bandmates, experienced musicians in their own right, shape clever, modern arrangements around his songs. Their excellent self-titled debut album was published in October last year, and received many excellent reviews.
